Working on a dog’s behavior has a lot to do with working on their owner’s behavior. Training takes discipline, especially for the humans. So you need to commit to doing the work—fortunately, just a few minutes a day can be all it takes. Training also takes consistency. You can’t sometimes let your dog jump up on people and sometimes correct him. That’ll just confuse the dog and lead to bad results. When we start training, we look for clear, achievable goals like basic commands or getting rid of certain rude behaviors and then build the path to get you there over time. Discipline and consistency are the keys and that starts with you!
