Five basic do’s and don’ts for training a puppy.

Your new puppy is eager to please you. But puppies are puppies so here are some do’s and don’ts: #1 DO train with your puppy every day but for very short periods of time. 5-10 minutes is plenty. #2 When your puppy makes a mistake, DO NOT get frustrated. Use gentle but consistent corrections and praise. #3: DO give your puppy toys and daily exercise to help them get that energy out. A frustrated puppy will get into trouble fast! #4 DO NOT expect an 8-week old puppy to be fully housebroken. That takes time and mistakes will happen. And #5—DO bond with your puppy as much as possible right now—they grow up incredibly fast and this is when you want to make a lifelong connection.
