Sometimes we forget how important it is for your dog to be fully socialized. With people, with other dogs or cats—you name it. Otherwise, you can have a dog who shows aggression towards your dinner guests or towards the neighbor’s dog in the next yard. Socialization is especially important for puppies—once they are fully vaccinated, get them out into the world to meet and greet so they don’t become problems later. And if you bring a new adult dog into your home, spend time walking around the block, see if they are playful or fearful with new people and new dogs. And help them get used to their new world.
