It’s really sweet when an 8-week old puppy runs across the bedroom with your shoe in its mouth. But when your 6-month old puppy chews up several pairs of shoes, it’s not so cute. There are so many rules I want to break or wait to enforce until Chase is bigger, but I’m really trying not to give into temptation. No feeding from the table, no jumping up on furniture, no gnawing on the leash with little puppy teeth that don’t do much damage. Yet.
Puppies know they’re cute. And the clever ones pull at your heartstrings to get away with as much as possible. Just remember how fast they grow up and that today’s good habits can mean a lifetime of good behavior and easy living.
